First submariners to use DSEA

A Chinese steamer rammed and sank the submarine HMS Poseidon north of Wei-Hai-Wei on 9th June 1931. The boat's crew became the first submariners to use the DSEA apparatus. There were eight men trapped in the fore ends and 18 at the after end of the boat. None of those from the after end escaped, but six of those from the fore ends, led by Petty Officer Willis, successfully reached the surface.
