Britain issued eight World War Two campaign stars.

An individual could earn a maximum of five stars.
-
Those who qualified for more received a clasp sewn onto the ribbon of the appropriate star.

It was only permitted to wear one clasp per ribbon.

King George VI designed the ribbons of the different stars and each one has a special meaning. For example, the ribbon of the Atlantic Star (above) represents the murky waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
