Ken McDonald

Introduction
Royal Marines Bandsman Ken McDonald served aboard HMS Gloucester aiding the evacuation of Allied troops from Crete in May 1941. The Germans took McDonald prisoner following an airborne and sea attack, sinking many of the vessels including HMS Gloucester. McDonald spent the remainder of the war as a prisoner of war in various camps in Greece and the German Reich.
